About the role
Typical Duties Report to the Long Eaton depot. Complete vehicle checks and prepare the coach for service. Operate scheduled FlixBus services to timetable while prioritising safety. Monitor driving and working time throughout the shift. Assist passengers boarding and alighting. Record defects or incidents. Return the vehicle to depot or designated changeover location in accordance with company procedures. The role combines professional driving, customer service, and strict legal compliance, with the driver's primary responsibility being the safe and comfortable transportation of passengers while maintaining the high service standards expected of the FlixBus network.
What you'll do
- Operate modern coaches on scheduled FlixBus services from the Norwich Postwick operating base to destinations across the UK.
- Carry out comprehensive daily walk-round safety inspections and defect reporting before and after each duty.
- Ensure compliance with drivers' hours legislation, digital tachograph regulations, and Driver CPC requirements.
- Deliver excellent customer service by greeting passengers, checking tickets, assisting with luggage where appropriate, and providing journey information.
- Deal professionally with delays, diversions, breakdowns, and emergency situations while keeping passengers informed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle throughout the duty.
What we're looking for
- Full UK Category D (PSV) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight duties.
